Gretchen K – MN Work Crew Chili Recipe


  • 1 lbs of hamburger
  • 1 chopped onion
  • 2 or 3 garden tomatoes (seasonal)
  • 2 14.5 oz. cans Our Family Stewed Tomatoes
  • 2 14.5 oz. cans Our Family Diced Tomatoes
  • 1 15 oz. can Our Family Kidney beans
  • 1 15 oz. can Our Family pinto beans
  • 2 to 3 tsp. Our Family Chili Powder
  • 1 tsp. Our Family Ground Black Pepper
  • 2 tbs. Our Family Brown Sugar


Brown hamburger, drain, add chopped onion till tender. Drain cans of beans and rinse with water. Dump and pour tomatoes from the cans into a large pot. Add all remaining ingredients. Taste to season (start with one tablespoon of brown sugar). Add salt if needed. Heat to on low in crockpot for all day self servings or mix in large pot and warm.
