Robert M – Chili Con Carne with a Southern Twist Chili Recipe


  • 1 ½ lbs. ground beef (or turkey) 
  • 2-15.5 oz. cans Our Family Dark Red Kidney Beans* 
  • 1- 28 oz. Our Family Baked Beans* 
  • 1-15 oz. can Our Family Chili Beans* 
  • 1- 6 oz. can Our Family Tomato Paste* 
  • 1- 29 oz. can Our Family Tomato puree* 
  • 2- 14.5 oz. cans Our Family Diced Tomatoes* 
  • 1- 14.5 oz. can Our Family Stewed Tomatoes* 
  • 1-12 oz. bag cut frozen okra* 
  • 1- package Our Family Chili Seasoning* 
  • 1- medium yellow onion, diced 
  • ¼ cup pickle juice 
  • 1- jalapeño pepper, diced 
  • 2- cloves garlic, crushed then diced 
  • Tbsp. lime juice 
  • Salt and pepper to taste* 


Brown the ground beef until no longer pink. Add all ingredients into a large crock pot and heat on low for up to 6 hours. Stir occasionally. Let the pot sit in the fridge overnight to help flavor develop and get the best taste. Reheat. If chili is too thin, add a handful of crushed tortilla chips* before serving. Garnish with shredded cheese*, crackers*, or sour cream*
